PERRY COLE
Perry J. Cole is a Managing Director of Energy Capital Partners. Energy Capital Partners is a $2.25 billion private equity fund focused on investing in North American infrastructure. Mr. Cole is member of Energy Capital Partners Investment Committee and involved in evaluating and managing a wide variety of energy investments. Mr. Cole primarily focuses on energy project and company development activities in the west and electric transmission opportunities across North America.
Prior to joining Energy Capital in 2005, Mr. Cole was an executive at Trans-Elect, the first independent electric transmission company in the United States. At Trans-Elect, Mr. Cole was a Project Manager during the development and construction of the Path 15 Transmission Project, a transmission line that enhanced power flows between northern and southern California and which reached commercial operation in late 2004.
Prior to his time at Trans-Elect, Mr. Cole spent 22 years with Montana Power Company in various roles. His career at Montana Power involved executive-level responsibilities for finance, regulatory, energy marketing and contracting, capital and operations budget prioritization and corporate development roles in the integrated electric and gas utility, gas pipeline and storage, unregulated generation, energy services and resource planning, as well as in the coal, oil and gas sectors. Mr. Cole also initiated Montana Power’s entry into the unregulated generation business.
Mr. Cole received a BS in Business with a concentration in Finance and an MBA from the University of Montana.
